Somali parents have concerns about their children socially integrating into a new modern and technologized cultural environment. Accessing quality education and supporting academic success can be significant challenges that Somali parents face. They also have difficulty instilling a sense of identity in their children while living in different societies. Many parents additionally face poverty, unemployment, and limited access to resources needed to foster holistic development.
Garabwaalid: is a program that is designed to empower parent through well integrated courses, workshops, counseling by implementing these programs, parents and IED center get to discuss, research, consult and explore topics such as positive discipline techniques, effective language use with the child and most importantly building strong child-parent relationship fostering healthy families, and support their children's overall well-being.
